With the arrival of any new season comes hot new trends. Whether you’re looking for a timeless piece or something super trendy, we’ve got you covered! The beauty of classic contemporary jewellery is that there’s a shade and style for everyone.
The mornings will soon slowly get lighter and the icy weather is almost behind us. As we lead up to the warmer months, we’re beginning to look forward to what’s on the horizon this spring.
As much as we love the warm colours of autumn and over indulging in the winter, we can’t wait for fewer clouds, more cocktails, and ditching the gloves and scarves!
As we say goodbye to the deep reds and intergalactic metallic trends of AW17, we say hello to deep purples and pastel dreaminess this SS18. Below we check out our favourite colour trends that are set to take 2018 by storm.
Get ‘ultra violet’ with Pantone’s colour of the year.
“Ultra Violet” is described as a spiritual and cosmic purple that, “communicates originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.” Historically, the deep purple hue has been synonymous with mystical and spiritual practices of mindfulness.
More recently, colour-matching geniuses at Pantone labelled ultra violet as their colour of the year. On top of that, they officially renamed a similar shade “Love Symbol #2” in August 2017, as a subtle nod to late music icon Prince and his love for all things purple.

Although we might not be able to pull off wearing a full UV suit with matching accessories to the office on a Monday morning, we’re definitely up for adopting the odd piece of stunning jewellery here and there to brighten up our wardrobe!
The easiest way to wear purple without looking like a Quality Street is definitely to choose accent pieces sparingly, and co-ordinate with sparkly nail polish or bold footwear. Check out these perfectly purple high street pieces that are sophisticated and wearable in real life.
Say hello to Candy Colours!
We love nothing more than a good ice cream, so we were overjoyed to see that it’s now acceptable to start dressing like one. ‘Millennial pink’ went viral on the web in 2017 and lots of people found they couldn’t get enough of it, even if they couldn’t quite define it. (Read more about it here – if you’re a little confused.)
It now seems only natural that a new wave of soft-toned shades has now taken over current collections. Light, fresh pastel pieces were huge on the spring/summer 2018 catwalks. Shown on the runways of Celine, Victoria Beckham and Hermes, the colours remind us of clouds and all things dreamy that we can’t get enough.

Pair cool blues with silver.
One of our favourite shades this spring is pastel blue. It’s flattering against a range of skin tones and there are loads of outfits to choose from in stores and online, so you won’t be stuck for choice. Cool blues look great with silver jewellery. Why not turn yourself into a contemporary ice queen this spring with these pieces we’ve picked out, that would complement a pastel outfit perfectly.
Warm peaches and pinks love Golds.
If you’re opting for warmer colours like pinks and peaches – go for gold. The warmth in gold jewellery looks great with pretty pinks and will give your overall look a summery feel. Finish off an outfit with delicate rose gold/gold jewellery to enhance sun-kissed skin and add sophisticated glamour.
We’re always on the lookout for hot new trends. Don’t forget to share your photos with us on our social channels. Just use #MyLucyQ to show off your favourite jewellery from any of Lucy Quartermaine’s collections.
