Our roadtrip to Scotland: Visiting our jewellery stockists | Lucy Quartermaine

The Lucy Quartermaine team recently took a trip up to Scotland, 1300 miles and two weeks of meeting new jewellery retailers, seeing glorious scenery and visiting a new place every day. It’s safe to say we all left inspired and excited for the future!

First on our list of places to visit was Dumfries in the South West of Scotland; we have a fabulous jewellery retailer here named G W Thomson. They have been situated in Dumfries since 1922 and have almost been in business for 100 years. We spent our time in the glorious sunshine (which is a rarity in Scotland!) exploring the town of Dumfries with Sheila from the store.

We then moved on to the City of Glasgow, there’s an abundance of amazing architecture and retail stores, making it popular with shoppers and tourists alike. Glasgow boasts a wealth of beautiful jewellers situated in the stunning Argyll Arcade jewellery quarter, if like us you’re interested in stunning jewellery – it’s definitely worth a visit.

Our road trip then took us onto the A82 past the most amazing scenery of Loch Lomond, Loch Ness and Fort William. We saw first hand why people spend their holidays in this idyllic part of the UK. Whilst taking in the beauty of Loch Ness, we were of course looking out for the famous Nessie… unfortunately on this occasion she didn’t come up to say hello!

Moving on, we then landed in Inverness. The capital of the Scottish Highlands delivered on wow factor. It’s one of the oldest cities in Scotland and is home to an array of stunning buildings and historical treasures.

Whilst exploring the streets looking for new stockists we even received compliments on our own jewellery choices – which always fills us with joy. It was our fabulous sterling silver DN1 necklace that stole the show by sparkling beautifully in the sunshine.

One place we had wanted to visit for some time was Aberdeen. The buildings made from Granite make Aberdeen a unique tourist attraction. The city was bustling with people shopping, exploring and we thoroughly enjoyed seeking out many amazing jewellers and jewellery stockists around the city.

Next on our list was Dundee, this spectacular coastal city is a haven of arts and culture. One treasure we found was the Desperate Dan sculpture from Beano situated in the centre, this is where the publishers of Beano are based… and was a particularly interesting attraction.

In Dundee, we visited our fabulous stockist Stephen Henderson the Jeweller. They stocked up on lots of Lucy Quartermaine jewellery so if you are in Dundee, be sure to pay them a visit. Just a little further down the country we stopped off in Falkirk where our next stockist is based, McMaster Jewellers. They have a stunning selection of Lucy Quartermaine pieces in store, including pieces from our Splash and Waterfall collections. Pay them a visit you won’t be disappointed.

Last but not least. We couldn’t do a Scotland adventure without visiting the capital of the country! We love Edinburgh, it’s medieval charm and variety of things to do are why this city is number one destination to visit in Scotland. Once we had arrived, the first view that hit us was the spectacular Edinburgh Castle. This amazing building dominates the skyline of the City. It is believed to have been there since the 12th century and holds so many fascinating facts and stories of pervious inhabitants and events. To this day it holds the fabulous Royal Military Tattoo music festival, watched by thousands!

Here we also visited our jewellery stockist Goodwin’s Antiques, this beautiful store is based in the heart of the city and offers a great collection of Lucy Quartermaine including some of our Rose Gold jewellery pieces.

Along the way we also visited towns and cities around Scotland such as Greenock, Elgin, Inverurie, Perth and may more. We met some beautiful jewellers and saw some amazing sites.

We cannot wait to go back!
